Following the bushfire devastation that has ripped through the Southern Highlands in New South Wales, the innovative new brand, Chelsea Gardens, is hard at work bringing business back to the area.
It has been reported by the Southern Highlands Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SHCCI) chair, Steven Horton, that the Southern Highlands is struggling economically due to the bushfires this summer. With businesses being down 50-80 percent over the past two months, in particular hotels, retail, wineries, cafes and restaurants struggling.
“As an event company based in the Highlands, we feel it is imperative that companies and private clients continue to take their business to regional destinations like ours. There are many misconceptions that these areas are hazardous because of smoke and fire still, and countless tourists have cancelled bookings and asked for refunds on planned trips. It’s a vital time to spread the word that the Southern Highlands is OPEN FOR BUSINESS and to support small business in those areas that have been impacted.”
