The Northern Territory makes for a perfect destination to tie the knot. From the vast landscapes of the rugged and spiritual Red Centre to the lush tropics of the Top End – whatever the location you’ll be sure to blow your guests away.

Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life. To share that moment of commitment in front of your guests, but to also celebrate life and love in a beautiful location, makes it unforgettable.

The Red Centre

The Red Centre has some magnificent locations to tie the knot which will have your friends and family in awe. The East and West MacDonnell ranges just outside of Alice Springs makes for the perfect backdrop for your special day. Contrasting deep red soil and sheer cliffs against perfect blue skies really sets the scene.

Earth Sanctuary

For sustainable wedding locations, look no further than Earth Sanctuary just outside of Alice Springs. Or travel deeper into the Red Centre and visit Watarrka National Park, home of Kings Canyon. This landscape has an ancient world feel to it, but allows you to host a wedding with all the airs and graces.  And for the piece de resistance, you could have your wedding ceremony in Australia’s heart and soul, Uluru. Here you will exchange vows at one of the most spiritual and culturally significant places in Australia with world-class facilities for your reception afterwards at Ayers Rock Resort.  Better yet, enjoy quality extended time here with your guests and your new life partner for memories that will last a lifetime.

The Red Centre also lends itself to an amazing holiday for not only yourself but your guests. It has some fantastic resorts and lodges, where you can feed, accommodate and entertain your guests pre and post wedding for that ultimate NT wedding experience.

The Top End

Wedding locations in the Top End are just as impressive as the Red Centre. Darwin itself, has some spectacular coastal locations that will take your breath away. Just 1 ½ hours from Darwin, Litchfield National Park has plenty of stunning settings to exchange vows, such as Tolmer and Wangi falls.

Travel further south to the Katherine region – where the outback meets the tropics. Katherine offers choices like a rustic country wedding on a cattle station or the grandiose wedding backdrop of Nitmiluk Gorge, where 100m sandstone cliffs follow the placid waters of the river.

Kakadu National Park, a popular Australian landmark and dual world heritage listed, has some exceptional and unforgettable ceremony locations that will stay in your heart forever. The lookout at Ubirr provides some of the most breathtaking and uninterrupted views over the Arnhem Land escarpment. Some couples even trek up to the top of Gunlom falls, a popular swimming spot, to get that Insta-worthy shot above the natural infinity pool.

Of course for couples that would rather have a ceremony, reception and holiday all in the one, the Top End can cater for this experience at one of our high end, luxury lodges and resorts such as Wildman Wilderness Lodge who provide wedding packages and exclusive property use. Or there’s Skycity Resort in Darwin‘s CBD for the perfect beach backdrop and sunsets you have to see to believe! Skycity offer extensive accommodation and delectable catering for the most upscale wedding.

Best time for Northern Territory Weddings?

NT weather, although varied, is reliable according to the season so having a March or April wedding in the Red Centre will see clear blue skies and warm days. Or as the rest of Australia freezes, swap your winter wedding for a summer one in the Top End. Here you can celebrate in the tropics with a warm and sunny 32 degrees from May to August.

The locations are endless, the weather is perfect, the destination is awe-inspiring and your wedding in the Northern Territory will give you and your guests a lifelong bond and the unforgettable memory of your EPIC NT wedding day.
