We develop short and long-term marketing campaigns that promote the Northern Territory as a unique and must-visit holiday destination.

Tourism NT campaigns highlight the incredible natural beauty of our diverse regions from the tropical Top End to the rich outback of the Red Centre and the amazing adventures you can have here, focusing on the ease of access to the Northern Territory.

We show that the Northern Territory is truly unlike any other place in the world.

Tourism NT has been established as a commission by the Northern Territory Government under the Tourism NT Act 2012. Tourism NT is responsible for marketing and influencing the development of the Northern Territory as a competitive visitor destination for the continuing benefit of Territorians.

In line with our Tourism Industry Strategy 2030, Tourism NT targets special interest sectors and develops experiences that meet the needs of these groups.

While research on each particular special interest group varies, we know that visitors who travel in pursuit of a specific interest or for a specific purpose are more likely to stay longer, spend more and disperse deeper through the destination, adding to the overall visitor economy.

Our marketing of the Northern Territory as different in every sense also targets these special interest groups, ensuring they put the NT at the top of their list of places to visit in the pursuit of their special interest.

While Tourism NT’s mainstream consumer marketing activities will reach many of the sectors, the aim of developing specific activities and experiences that connect the NT with a particular special interest is to create a sense of urgency for these groups to visit the NT sooner, rather than later.
