Our awesome vendor, Anchored Cinema, have shared their Top 5 tips on getting the most out of your wedding videographer. Read on, and then check out their incredible work below!
  1. Make sure you view lots of examples of the videographers work – the best videographers will have an extensive showreel. It is important to watch a videographers previous work to both gain an understanding of quality, shooting style and editing style
  2. Meet in person – The lead up to a wedding can be crazy busy, and in the current world of tech, a lot of bookings are made via phone/email but Anchored Cinema strongly encourages meeting up with our lovely couples before the big day! It’s so much nicer to have a familiar face filming you on your big day than a complete stranger. It also allows the videographer to understand more about your personalities, your love story and a vibe of your big day
  3. Be organised – here at Anchored Cinema, we love when our couples are organised, it helps us out so much. Things like sending through a Run Sheet of the day a few weeks before the wedding, completing questionnaires with extensive answers, addressing any concerns they may have about the day – communication is key!
  4. Having an Unplugged Ceremony – Getting your guests to turn there phones/cameras/iPad off for the ceremony and just enjoying themselves is SO important. Couples financially invest in videography + photography for the big day, so nothing is missed and there is nothing worse than getting video footage back to the editing room and it is just a sea of iPhones in the crowd. Your videographer wants to capture all those candid moments, the facial expressions, the tears of joy – we cannot do this with phones in the way.
  5. Choose your videographer based on what they do best. Every videographer is different, this is evident in their work. When choosing a videographer, it’s important to understand their style and their vibe – everyone’s expectations are met + even exceeded when couples choose a videographer that they know will produce something they love!

Now that you’re a total pro at getting the most out of your wedding videographer, check out the work of one of the best in the business!

Joel + Felicity // Creative Short Film from Anchored Cinema on Vimeo.

Anchored Cinema couple Joel + Felicity invited us along to film their magical day on the 2nd of September 2017 at The Farm in Byron Bay, NSW.
Sitting on top of the world at The Farm housed a night of perfection for Joel and Felicity. With 360 degrees of uninterrupted views, sweeping from the oceans to mountains and the lush green textures of Byron’s hinterland in its sights it was a picturesque extravaganza celebrating a love built on adventure and kindness. The colours that made up this magical day were just too good to be true.
Beginning with the golden sparkle in their morning champagne and ending with candied coloured sky of soft pinks and baby blues, each hue contributed to the most beautiful sugar-coated background for the sweetest of loves.
But it was more than just the surroundings that complimented this pure wedded bliss, in a true state of love and in awe of the days the lay ahead together, the bride and groom themselves relished in a little time alone under the stars, taking in the atmosphere and the reality of the day that had just unfolded – moments that will never be forgotten and cherished for all their years to come.
