2018 Wedding Dress Trend: Capes and Capelets

Who would have imagined that in the year 2018, brides are now choosing a more chaste approach to their Wedding Dress?

The trend is not only a super chic fashion statement, but also a very practical way of reinventing the traditional and conservative cover up. It creates a feminine and romantic statement while not distracting from the main attraction… .. the wedding dress of course!

Designers from all over the world are concurring with this trend and delivering many different variations. Equally, brides with contrasting styles are embracing this new phenomenon.

This trend has been adapted for; the ballerina bride, the traditional Italian bride, the boho bride and the classic yet cool bride.

Designers like Elie Saab, are opting to skip the train and veil but accessorize with very chic and sophisticated capes. Long, mid or mini – size and length have no relevance; a variety of differing capes are being draped all over Bridal Fashion Week runways.
