Amy and Tim wanted their wedding to be unique, fun and relaxed, with a vintage edge.
Having always loved the 1920’s and 1940’s era of fashion and Tim’s love of wearing hats this worked for them.

Tim’s love for surfing led the couple to a coastal area so he could surf the morning of the wedding, which he did with his best man. The couple walked back down the aisle to none other than the Beach Boy’s Kokomo, which set the scene for a chilled, fun afternoon.

Amy’s love for plants was the reason behind the couple’s choice of the beautiful Gardens of The Berry Courthouse. for their reception venue. The courthouse hall (which is super cute) was a backup plan for wet weather but was not needed on the day.

A beautiful setting in the Courthouse gardens with perfect picnic weather of 23 degrees. Amy and Tim were married against a floral backdrop and chandelier under an amazing old camphor laurel tree. An 11:30 am ceremony with reception to follow meant their family and friend’s young children could all attend, playing in the gardens in a relaxed atmosphere. There was no allocated seating so people could move around as they pleased.

To everyone’s surprise Tim ended up helping Amy pick her wedding dress! As She was trying all sorts of things on at Alannah Hill (a favourite shop)  they unexpectedly found a winner. Rather prefect for this non-traditional couple who seem to do everything together!

About David Houldershaw: I fell in love with photography while travelling and have been hooked ever since. I started with film, not as a hip throwback but because back then digital hadn’t become accessible yet. The words Face and Book were mutually exclusive and I didn’t even own a computer. I’ve since embraced technology and continue my love affair with travel and making pictures, especially portraits.
